What's the best bar in Fredericton?

  • Stoggies, the karaoke bar.
  • For dancing, Nicky Zee's or the Social Club on campus.
  • Nicky Zee's or Sweetwater's.
  • To chill with friends, The Phoenix.
  • The Capitol. They have a patio and live music.
  • Margarita Monday's at Mexi's; Tuesday at the Hilltop; Wednesday, Nicky Zee's; Thursday, Dolan's; Friday it's ladies' night everywhere; Saturday, Nicky Zee's; Sunday at 20/20.

Any comments about drunken stupidity?

  • Walking home from the bar ALONE is stupid. Really stupid.
  • If you find a videotape of you on the internet, that's stupid.
  • The stories never go away... they have a habit of haunting you.

Do you plan for a night of drinking?

  • Yes. Always plan ahead.
  • Go with friends. The buddy system is a smart idea. You'll have more fun, too.
  • Always have someone sober in your group.
  • Always have cab fare with you.
  • George's Cabs take debit cards. Look for the pink sign on the roof of the cab.
  • Keep your drinking money in one pocket and cab money in another.
  • Keep cab money in your shoe or bra.
  • If you carry a debit card with you you'll be tempted to spend more than you planned.
  • Program cab numbers into your cell phone.

What's the worst that could happen?

  • Rape. Gang rape. Date rape drugs.
  • The worst is being separated from your friends. Dangerous. If you're by yourself, you're vulnerable.
  • Finding out that there is a video on the Internet of what you did the night before.
  • Remeber, what ever happens to you, your parents have to go through it too.

Where's the line between responsible and irresponsible drinking?

  • You've crossed it when you don't know what you're doing -- or care.
  • You always think you can drink more than you really can.
  • I find that the more I drink the less I care about others.
  • When I start saying things or doing things that are out of character, I know I've crossed the line.
